Angel food cake is a type of cake that became popular in the U.S. following the invention of the hand-crank egg-beater in the early 19th century.[1] It may also have been called angel cake. Because of its white color and airy lightness it was said to be the "food of the angels". A variety of Chocolate cake known as Devil's food cake is another popular American cake that was developed later[1] and was one of the many new American cakes made possible by the invention of baking powder. Angel food cake is a type of foam cake whereas the devil's food cake is a type of butter cake.Angel food cake requires that the egg whites be whipped until they are stiff, and gently folded into the other ingredients. For this method of leavening to work well, it is useful to have flour that has been made of softer wheat. This — and the lack of fat — causes angel food cake to have a very light texture and taste. What is the most unusual pizza you have ever eaten? For instance, how about try a chocolate dough with a sweetened white sauce or icing, and then add some flavors to compliemt it? Maybe fruit or a sweet meat? Interesting Facts About Strawberries Since Valentine's Day is tomorrow and since people love chocolate-covered strawberries, thought I'd share some interesting facts about strawberries. For instance, did you know that strawberries are the only fruit with their seeds on the outside? I didn't! Strawberries are also a memeber of the rose family, another favorite of Valentine's Day! Another cool thing about strawberries is that they are not a fruit at all, but enlarged ends of the plant's stamen. That got my attention, as I thought strawberries were indeed fruit! Did you also know that over ninety four percent of households in the United States consume strawberries? I don't think I have to mention that covered-strawberries, whether with chocolate or another fruit sauce, are very popular! Now on to Strawberry's health benefits. One cup of strawberries only has 55 calories in it! Awesome for all you out there trying to watch your weight! 8 medium strawberries also contain 140% of the U.S.RDA for Vitamin C, which might explain why I made a strawberry shake this morning? Strawberries are good sources of folic acid, fiber and potassium, and they have been proven to fight cancer. These reasons are all beneficial to consume...
