How many of you wear an apron when you are cooking? Well, i'm not because i am too lazy to do it... as a result, i always make a mess on my clothes... how about you??? Things I have painted on. I thought it would be funny to list all the things I have painted on in my life. I used to joke that if something stood still long enough, I'd paint it.
Faces, body parts, rocks, windows, canvas, paper, gourds, houses, glass, pottery, metal, clay pots, plastic, fabric, t-shirts, shop aprons, hats, bread dough art, beads, and leather.

They used them to protect their dresses, as a pot holder to pick up pots and pans, to wipe the kids tears away and many other things. Do you take your apron to family grill outs or just at home? Red Palm Oil, ever use it? Oh, it'll stain your clothes, so get out your aprons. It is wonderful! A deep orange color, solid till heated this lovely oil is highly nutritious too! it is extracted from the oily palm fruit, and is used a lot in Asia as well as Africa. I read that European manufacturers are using it now too, I wonder have you ever used it? If you have what do you think of it..It has aobut 50% saturated fat, mostly palmitic acid... Heirloom Chest Since I was a little girl,I have wanted a heirloom hope chest. They are just beautiful and so traditional. In pioneer days, Many young women would have a chest filled with homemade quilts, aprons, dishtowels, etc. They make the things that they would one day need when they were married.
Today, these chests have so many uses. I have seen them used as coffee tables, sitting benches in entry ways and at the foot of beds. They have so much room to store things in.
I just checked my email and received a newsletter from lowes creative Ideas. It contains the link to the directions for a Homemade Heirloom Chest. My husband could so easily make me one of these for my birthday. I am going to print off the directions and tape it to the mirror in our bathroom. Do you think he will get the hint? LOL

Valentine's day... bad gifts I was on Yahoo Ansers earlier and someone asked if it was ok to buy his wife/gf and apron for v-day. another guy said he was going to go to the bar until the 29.99 bears were on sale fo 4.99. My thoughts are for #1- an apron is like buying a cookbook. ew. obviously no. and #2 is just sucha cheap skate that i told him that i hope she figures him out by next year so he'l be alone and won't have to worry about buying anything.
My BF and I don't have a lot of money this year so we decided to get one little (like flowers) gift and then we went to wal-mart, bought some craft things and made each other gifts. I think this is very sweet and thoughtful and yet inexpensive without making you look like a cheap @$$hole. What do you think about spendingon V-day? or on gifts like aprons:P I sewed another apron I was so encouraged after finishing my first apron that I started another apron today and finished it in one afternoon.This apron is for my daughter as well . The bottom part of this apron was actually a skirt.It didn't fit me and it was too pretty to throw away .I just had to cut out the back panel,add a bib and sew a few seams.I feel so energized after this . I am off to see what else I can find to sew . Actually I have 3 baby quilts that I need to make .
