I'm always struck by the intelligence that cats display as they get older, and yesterday, he was stretched out on top of the couch, looking out the window.
Now, we have vertical blinds which were open, but one of them must have been in his viewing range, because he just stretched out a paw, held it aside for quite some time, and continued gazing even more intently.
What do your cats do that just leaves you in awe? mini blinds, vertical blinds, HEADACHE being that i live in a rented apartment, i have no choice but to put up with the dumb mini blinds in each window, AND the yuck vertical blinds in the doorway leading to the porch.
okay so i've managed an apartment building before, and we had curtains, and THEY ARE expensive to keep up. and the smokers would turn them yellow, and they stained bad if the rain hit them. most places have gone to blinds cuz they are cheaper. if you have to replace them after a tenant leaves, no big deal. however, THEY ARE A PAIN.
do any of you have ideas on how to clean them, (they get so dusty and nasty), and we haven't even lived here for a year yet, and pieces and parts are broken already...(i'm sure they found THE cheapest blinds to put in here, the wind broke the last piece that was broke). UGH...the vertical ones always get stuck, and have to line up just right in order to even open or close correctly....
WHO here LIKES these things? or are you a curtain kind of person?i did put up curtains in our bedroom (over the blinds, we're not allowed to take them down), as i just couldn't look at the blinds anymore, just ugly to me, dreary, drab, and boring. How do you deal with people who mistreat your pet? This afternoon I was sitting at my desk and as I looked out the window and I watched my dog run by to hide behind the bush, outside my window, to hide beneath it. One of my roommates came into view and was carrying the leafblower and directing it at my dog. Well, you can just imagine the mood that put me in! I waited for the guy to come inside the house. I then walked into the kitchen and confronted him. He had the nerve to tell me that he did not do what I said he did and that he did not even see my dog outside. The fact of the matter is, the vertical blinds were partially closed so the guy did not see me sitting there. He then told me to stay out of his face and referred to me in a durogatory choice of words. I left the room and reported the happening to the guy who owns the house. Now, the guy who owns the house has to keep the peace and that is not an easy job. He is already upset with the other renter about several other issues. I have informed him that I will not tolerate anyone abusing or teasing my dog. The dog was an abused animal when I took him in.
The dog doesn't trust the other renter and avoids him. I am trying to be diplomatic about this issue But the... Do you prefer heavy curtains, light curtains or blinds in your room? My choice depends on teh room in question. In the office I prefer to have vertical blinds. In my sitting room or the drawing room or the lounge, i prefer to have light drapes which flutter in teh breeze. For my bedroom i prefer to have heavy curtains, as I do not want anyone from outside peeping in. What about you? what sort of curtains do you prefer?
