I got it in an email from a friend. Pass it on if you want.
Dear Santa,I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor, sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years. Here are my Christmas wishes:I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze; but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy. If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing... How To Make Money Selling Other People's Castoffs Have you ever run your own yard sale? If so then you probably have experienced the common disappointment of not getting the price you wanted for the items you were selling. This often means that you didn't make the profit you anticipated or you may have even suffered losses. The problem here is that most people are selling things which they bought at one time and later found that they didn't need it afterward. These items may have been brand new, almost new, or seldom used. It just seems unfair that you could have paid, say, $50 for something just a months ago and now no one will pay you even $5 for it. This is disappointing to say the least and quite infuriating and insulting. But, let's face it, in the business of garage sales this is what the market will bear. I've known people who make things to sell and when they finally sell them the profit comes out to be something like 10 cents an hour or something equally humiliating as that.So what's the answer? The most obvious thing is that we should have diminished or more realistic expectations. This is what most of us would do or we may become so frustrated with the business that we just give up and never hold another garage... Letter to Santa.... I just got this email from my aunt and it was so funny that I had to share! Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!Dear Santa,I've been a good mom all year. Guys - a great last minute present a great last minute presnt for you girl friend or wife.any blokes on here leaving it until the last minute to buy their partner a xmas present?here is a presnt that you can give and it will save you the trip up the petrol station:Dget an old cardboard box (the bigger the better) and write on it the following message:"this box is full of my kisses. when i'm not here, simply open the box and have a kiss on me"use any wording you like, the above is an example. you can decorate the box with tinsel, gliter etc.then say its the thought that counts:D
women, im afraid the prenent wont work the other way around. if youve left it until the last minute to buy your partner a present then i suggest you go to dixons as quick as you can and buy the most expensive item in the shop.................. hurry, then will be closing soon:D Do you have a skill, can you make/build things? I wish I had some sort of skill. I mean, I have plenty of computer skills, I'm good with languages and I could paint fairly well with water colors and acrylics, but I haven't done anything like that in such a long time... I wish I could, I dunno, sew things and craft things. You know, be able to do more old fashioned things instead of being in front of this cursed computer all the time (not that I don't enjoy working on the computer, just that it gets tiring and dull at times).I see these online communities of people who can do such things (make clothes, bags, jewelry, carpentry, dolls, etc.) and they trade these things between them... I wish I could trade something too. But I have no such skills. Are you a crafty sort of person? Any Martha Stewart wannabes out there? BTW, Martha Stewart amuses me, she must be the "whitest" woman on the planet. Sometimes they show the audience on her show and there'll be like a hundred white folks and maybe 2 black folks, I can't help picturing thought bubbles over their heads, thinking "We thought this was the Oprah show!" -- don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are plenty of crafty people of ALL races out there, just that Martha Stewart's... I love my boyfriend, but sometimes he acts like we're an "old-fashioned" couple in that it's my job to cook, clean, primarily care for our son, etc. That wasn't such a big deal to me at first because the deal was he was responsible for repairs, maintenance, car stuff, etc. But he doesn't. I am becoming quite the handywoman...I just fixed our bathroom sink, I got our oil changed and filled up the tires in our car, I pull out the power tools more often that he does, yet he still insists that the cooking and cleaning is MY job. Plus, typically, when the woman does all the stuff cuz she's at home (I go to school part-time and stay home with my son) the husband is "supposed" to be the financial supporter, but he has only worked for like 2 months in the last 8! We are basically living off my maternity leave benefits. Have you ever been stuck in gender roles? How do you stop it? Why can men understand how to use power tools but not washing machines? This is something I find really odd (and yes I know it is not all men). However, there are many men who understand how to use power tools of all sorts, some also understand how the different components of cars work. They can use TV's, VCRS, camcorders even coffee makers but face them with a washing machine, a vaccuum machine or a dishwasher they claim not to be able to use them. If you try to make them do it (as at times I have needed the help) they make such a hash of it that you might as well do it yourself (and there have been many times when I feel this is deliberate). If you can use 1 electronic device surely you have the capacity to use others, it's just that you don't want to.Opinions?
